On the morning of February 28, 2025, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received a courtesy call from His Excellency Dr. Yun Seogdae, CEO of Korea Water Corporation (K-water) and Chairman of the Asian Water Council (AWC), along with his delegation, at the Peace Palace.

During the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Yun Seogdae expressed his gratitude and pleasure at the opportunity to meet with Samdech Borvor Thipadei again following their first meeting during the Prime Minister’s official visit to the Republic of Korea in May 2024. He briefed Samdech Borvor Thipadei on the fruitful cooperation between K-water and Cambodia’s relevant ministries and institutions, as well as K-water’s objectives in exploring investment opportunities in Cambodia’s water resources management sector.

In response, Samdech Borvor Thipadei highly valued the past collaboration between K-water and Cambodian ministries and institutions, particularly in water resources management. He encouraged K-water to continue working with relevant ministries and institutions to conduct a feasibility study on Cambodia’s water resources management in alignment with the Royal Government’s policies. He emphasized the importance of conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the project’s strengths and its socio-economic and environmental impacts. Samdech Borvor Thipadei underscored the Royal Government’s objective of ensuring an efficient water resources management system that provides sufficient water supply during both the rainy and dry seasons for the benefit of the citizens. He also highlighted the importance of developing an ecosystem that supports the agricultural and agro-industrial sectors while effectively managing flooding in the rainy season and drought in the dry season. Before concluding, Samdech Borvor Thipadei encouraged K-water to strengthen cooperation and establish closer ties with relevant ministries and institutions of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
