Prime Minister Visits Cambodian Community in Nice
AKP Phnom Penh, June 12, 2025 — Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony, accompanied by senior officials, made a brief visit to the Cambodian community in Nice, France, following their participation in the Third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3).
“Before returning to Cambodia, my wife and I had the opportunity to have dinner at a Cambodian restaurant owned by a member of our community in Nice. We then met and greeted many Cambodian citizens living and working in the area,” the Prime Minister shared on his social media platform following his return to Phnom Penh this morning.
In his post, Samdech Thipadei noted that while time constraints prevented him from meeting all members of the Cambodian community in Nice, he was pleased to connect with many of them.
“I would also like to thank the uncles, aunts, brothers, and sisters for the warm welcome they extended to me, my wife, and our team,” he wrote.
The Prime Minister added that despite living far from home, the Cambodian diaspora continues to think about their homeland. During their meeting, community members urged him to work hard for national development and to prevent any return to war, expressing particular concern over the current border issue.
In response, Samdech Thipadei reaffirmed the Royal Government’s commitment to safeguarding Cambodia’s territorial integrity and finding peaceful solutions to avoid conflict, while protecting the nation’s and the people’s best interests.
