Press Briefing – Update on the implementation of the immediate and unconditional ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand
Keynote Address by H.E. Pen Bona, Government Spokesperson:

As the spokesperson of the Royal Government, I would like to illuminate the truth for our fellow citizens, based on historical facts, as follows:
1- In our modern history of the past 500 years, counting from the post-Angkor era, Cambodia under the Techo-Thipadei leadership has experienced greater development than at any other era. We have enjoyed longer-lasting peace than ever before. The country now has better social infrastructure, making it more convenient for citizens to travel comfortably and quickly, as we have more diverse and modern means of transportation than any time in the past. Cambodian children and youth have more opportunities to study and travel abroad, so as to enjoy a blissful life compared to any other era. These are undeniable facts that can all be verified.
2- When we look at these facts, we can immediately realize the value of peace and the sacrifices made by the founding father and the main architect of peace under the leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen. This is the very reason why the Royal Government, led by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, is so determined to safeguard peace at any cost. Along with that, the vast majority of Cambodians, both at home and abroad — including the Buddhist monks and followers of other religions — clearly understand this value and are stepping forward to defend peace and the foundations laid by the Royal Government with unwavering commitment.
3- Concerning the matter of protecting the national sovereignty and territorial integrity, one can obviously see that only the government led by former Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen and the current Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet have successfully established the most defined border lines through peaceful negotiations and demarcation efforts with neighboring countries. They have also built the longest border protection roads ever recorded in our history. These major and unprecedented achievements are the result of the tireless efforts of the Royal Government under the Cambodian People’s Party in preserving territorial integrity sustainably for the sake of future generations. This, too, is a historical reality that can be verified and cannot be denied by those who are ignorant of history.
